Fly Fishing Flies

If your stream has brown trout in it they spawn in the fall so try egg patterns with a nymph can be very deadly in the fall. Any trout should take these following flies. Try midges, nymphs, Bwo, caddis flies, and tricos. You can’t go wrong with nymphs, buggers, or streamers.
Thanks

Try a Wooly Bugger or other streamer. I really like the Clouser minnow also. Both these flies will catch anything that swims.

Are you wet or dry fly fishing and I trust that you will be fishing for Rainbows as the Brownies are off limits as of 30th of September (UK), if you are fishing for rainbows then you gotta try either a daddy or a blob

Depends where you are fishing. In S. Colorado I use a hopper / dropper (usually a bead head pheasant tail) and I do real well. Alternatively if they aren’t hitting you can always go to wholly buggers

Sometimes in autumn you get certain hatches but they can often be short and not worth investing. Otherwise you can use your normals like leeches, shrimp, dragonfly and damsel fly nymphs and streamers like doc spratleys.
